ABOUT US
People and achievements have always been my passion.
That is, helping people to find what it is they REALLY want to do, and then helping them achieve it.
BACKGROUND?
After a varied career working both in industry and for organisations such as MIND and The Samaritans, I changed direction completely; a long-standing interest in complementary medicine led me to train as a reflexologist, and I went on to run my own Reflexology practice. I then discovered Life Coaching, and found from experience that it could help people in a way physical therapy couldn't. As my interest grew I decided to train as a Life Coach so I could help other people clarify what they wanted from their lives and careers, and help them to achieve it.
So I really do understand the impact, stress and joy of making those profound life and career changes.
QUALIFICATIONS?
I studied at the Coaching Academy, and began career coaching for those facing a life-changing decision about their career. This included anyone at a crossroads in their career – those heading into retirement, those wanting to change their job, and young people wondering what they want to do. As a licensed Firework Career Coach I can guide clients through a process which leads to a clear result - deciding on a new career and building a plan to make it happen.
WHY CAREER COACHING?
Lots of people get career advice. Few are asked to explore what sort of life they want, what they value in life, and what sort of career they see themselves doing.
Coaching works brilliantly in this situation, because it's not about telling anyone what to do (don't we all just kick against anyone telling us what we should do?). Coaching is a conversation between two people who both want to achieve the same aim; and it allows people to discover their own solutions and develop a plan on how best to move forward.
YOUTH COACHING?
After studying at the Youth Coaching Academy, I was nominated by the Academy, and by the students I coached, for the Youth Coach of the Year award 2005. Coaching young people about career issues helps them identify early on what really matters to them, and will help them to make the right career choices.
